Meeting Highlights

The Chair opened the meeting with a warm welcome to all attendees and shared the latest insights on our neighbourhood plan, setting a positive tone for the evening.

A lively Q&A session followed, where community members brought up important questions on communications and grants, reflecting the active engagement and interest of our residents.

This month, we took a brief hiatus from planning matters, turning our focus to other pressing topics.

The recent HR committee meeting and this month’s financial reports were reviewed, keeping everyone informed on the council’s operations and financial health.

A key discussion point was the recent village survey, which, despite its low response rate, sparked a constructive conversation about enhancing community engagement, especially among residents without internet access.

In a heartening show of community spirit, we’re gearing up for the Village Spring Clean day on the 24th of March. The Waddesdon Wombles are on board, generously providing equipment and pinpointing key areas for us to focus our efforts on. Let’s come together to make our village shine!

Exciting Updates & Key Decisions

We’re thrilled to announce that the Parish Council will once again be the champion behind the much-loved Waddesdon Weekender, generously contributing towards the marquee costs. (under GPC (LA 2011 s1(1)))

A new grants policy was approved for 2024. This policy is set to further empower our community projects and initiatives, paving the way for an even more vibrant and inclusive Waddesdon. (under GPC (LA 2011 s1(1)))

Mark your calendars! On the 6th of June, we’re stepping back in time to the 1940s to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day. The community centre will be the heart of this memorable event, featuring the symbolic lighting of the beacon, delightful light refreshments, and the nostalgic tunes of the era. We’re excited to share that we’ve successfully obtained funding from the Waddesdon and Haddenham Community Board to establish a community orchard by the Quainton Street allotments. This initiative is a fantastic opportunity for local involvement, and we warmly invite those interested to contribute. Please contact the Clerk for more information.

Lastly, we’re evolving our communications policy to serve you better. For non-urgent inquiries received via email or message, expect a response within 10 working days. For more immediate concerns, we encourage you to reach out by phone or visit the Clerk at the community centre during office hours. For urgent matters outside working hours, please leave a message for the Clerk or, in life-threatening situations, contact 111/999 directly.
