Posters

If you are advertising an event in and around the parish and are putting up posters/signs/flyers could you ensure that you seek the relevant authorisation from either the council or building/land owner before proceeding*.

To this end there is an increasing number of posters/signs/flyers that are being abandoned and our litter cleaning teams are not able to distinguish if they are for current events or in most cases ones that have passed. They do not want to remove flyers for current events and the council would appreciate it if once your event is over if you could collect up your posters/signs/flyers in a timely fashion.

We appreciate that it may not be possible the very next day however we have examples from January and that sufficient time has passed for those to be tidied up!

*There is ‘deemed consent’ for certain exceptions, if you are advertising a one-day event for non-profit making purposes and the signs are put up and removed within 24 hours; but even then, you need the permission of the people who own the property to which you are attaching.
