“DIG FOR VICTORY” IN 2020
Many people, all over the UK, have already turned to gardening to help them deal with the challenges caused by Covid-19. Rekindling the spirit of the Second World War ‘Dig for Victory’ Campaign, they’re finding it’s extremely rewarding to eat food that they’ve grown themselves – and nurturing seeds and being outdoors is also great for mental health too. This week is the Royal Horticultural Society’s National Gardening Week so it’s a good time to get going. Anyone who doesn’t have outdoor space can also join in, as there are many plants that can be grown in pots, indoors.
The Royal Horticultural Society & National Allotment Society websites are full of lots of useful hints and tips WWW.RHS.org.uk / www.nsalg.org.uk
Parish Council Chairman Steve Walker said “Staying fit and healthy is so important at the moment. Growing your own fruit and vegetables is not only a satisfying achievement but also good for your wellbeing”.
If you are interested in an allotment (Quainton Road) please contact the Clerk. There are none currently available but we will add you to our waiting list.
